Gareth Bale’s proposed China move off after Real Madrid board block deal

Gareth Bale looks set to remain at Real Madrid, a club that does not want him, after the board blocked his lucrative transfer to China.

The Wales winger had been expected to join the Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning on a three-year deal. That move is now off after Real decided it did not represent good value.

With the Chinese transfer window to shut at the end of July and the English window not long afterwards, Bale looks set to spend another season in Madrid. This despite having effectively been frozen out of the team by Zinedine Zidane.

Bale joined Madrid from Tottenham in 2013 for a then world-record fee of £85m. He has won four Champions League titles with the club but has been sidelined by Zidane since he returned to Madrid this spring for a second spell as the manager.

After leaving Bale out of a pre-season game against Bayern Munich last week, which Madrid lost, Zidane said he hoped the player would be sold. “We hope he leaves soon,” Zidane said. “It would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team. I have nothing personal against him but there comes a time where things are done because they must be done.”

Bale had expected a move to China and reportedly agreed a three-year deal with Jiangsu Suning worth £1m a week. But the Real board, led by the president, Florentino Pérez, decided the fee was insufficient.

Sevilla player apologises for 'odious' foul on Liverpool youngster Larouci

Sevilla’s Joris Gnagnon has apologised for his “odious” foul on Liverpool’s Yasser Larouci, which forced the Liverpool youngster to be stretchered off the pitch during a pre-season friendly in Boston. Sevilla went on to win the match 2-1 thanks to a late Alejandro Pozo goal.
Jürgen Klopp later said it appeared Larouci had been “lucky” not to have suffered a more serious injury after he was forced off the field in the 80th minute. The 18-year-old left-back will need further assessment.

“It looks like he was lucky,” Klopp said at his post-match press conference. “Of course, how it always is with these things we have to wait a little bit.”
Joris Gnagnon was immediately shown a red card for the kick to Larouci’s leg while the scores were level at 1-1.

Asked for specifics on Larouci’s injury, Klopp added: “He hit him full throttle and, in that moment, [if it was] a little bit different position where he hit him then it’s done. He rolls … he is a sports boy so that was OK, nothing happened there.
“I don’t know 100%. It looks like he was lucky but I only spoke quickly to the doc and that’s what he said, but we have to see.”
After the match, Gnagnon apologised for the “odious” tackle. In a post on Twitter, he said: “I would like to publicly apologise towards Liverpool, the family of the player and its supporters. It was an odious act on my part. Whatever the reason, it’s not what should be seen on a football pitch. All my prayers are with the player and his family.”

Manchester United reject Inter’s £54m bid for Romelu Lukaku

Manchester United have rejected a £54m bid from Internazionale for Romelu Lukaku and informed the Italian club it will need a significantly higher offer to succeed in luring the player away from Old Trafford.

Lukaku missed the pre-season friendly between the two clubs in Singapore on Saturday, after complaining of an ankle injury and was seen talking to Inter officials on the pitch after a 1-0 victory for Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s team, courtesy of a second-half winner from Mason Greenwood.

Inter are now contemplating lodging another offer and Antonio Conte, who confirmed his interest in the player on Friday, made it clear again after the match that he was still keen to take the Belgian striker to Serie A.

“I think that I have answered yesterday about Lukaku,” the Inter head coach said. “I think that it’s not right to speak about the player that in this moment is a United player. For this reason I think we must show great respect for the club and at the same time also for the player and also for my players.

“As I said yesterday, Lukaku is a player I like. I like him because I consider him a player that could improve our team. In one side there is my hope, my will. In the other side we’ll see what we find with the club.”

Two years since moving to Old Trafford Lukaku is keen for the transfer to happen but United rejected the bid out of hand because it fell considerably short of their valuation for the former Everton player.

Asked about Inter’s bid – and United’s ongoing interest in the Leicester defender Harry Maguire – Solskjær said: “Of course you want to have your team settled as early as possible. Whoever’s available, we work with them .... and let’s see on August 8 or 9 who’s here and who’s not.”
Lukaku has yet to feature for United in pre-season and that appears to be frustrating his manager. “If you’re a player and you don’t manage to train for a week – and he’s missed three games now – of course I think he’ll be concerned,” Solskjær said. “He’s working to get back on the pitch and let’s see how long that takes.”

Of Greenwood’s performance, Solskjær added: “The kid’s only 17 and he’s learning every day training with these boys. He reminds me a little bit about the Giggsy [Ryan Giggs] story, that you can’t really send him on loan. For me he’s ready to be in this squad.”

Solskjær was less impressed that Ashley Young was booed and jeered by United’s fans during the match. “I think Ashley is a top professional,” the manager said. “He always gives absolutely everything and his delivery ended up with a goal. Of course, we want fans to support our players. Ash has been a very loyal servant to this club for many, many years and he’ll keep on performing when he plays. We’ll have a chat with him but I don’t think he’ll get affected.”

Eden Hazard In Real Madrid

Real Madrid completed the sign language of Eden Hazard yesterday for associate direct fee of eighty eight million pounds. Has there ever been a much bigger cut price in football?

The transfer has been completed however the fee is being considered one thing of a coup. Florentino Perez once magnificently quipped “Zidane value €73 million and he was the most affordable player”, and Hazard is seen as a player of comparable variety.

Especially considering the inflation in transfer fees ever since Cristiano Ronaldo signed for Real Madrid ten years agone, truth extent of the discount will solely be accomplished by relative comparison with equally priced players WHO have did not perform.

Philippe Coutinho’s one hundred and five million pounds transfer stands collectively of the most important transfer flops of recent times and one will solely marvel what might need been had they looked to sign a particular Belgian instead.

Ousmane Dembele stands as another one hundred million pounds and transfer, WHO doesn't even build the beginning eleven at Barcelona at the instant, abundant to their embarrassment. Paul Pogba’s eighty nine million fees is another status transfer that has did not live up to expectations, whereas for all of two hundred million man Neymar’s performances within the French League, injuries and off-field problems have meant that he has remained missing once his team has required him the foremost.

Through the days once these players have turned in one unhealthy performance when another, Hazard has remained consistent as ever.

Even though performance-related add-ons would possibly bring the deal to a complete of a hundred thirty million pounds, it still works out lesser than most the players within the same list – Coutinho and Dembele cost accounting over a hundred and forty million pounds once accounting for bonuses.

While dearly-won flops are accounted for, what concerning the opposite finish of the spectrum? that ar the players WHO have exceeded expectations despite the burden of a hefty worth tag?

Hazard’s new manager comes in 1st once talking of cut price buys – at forty eight million pounds Zidane was the foremost dearly-won player within the world for eight long years however repaid each penny back by winning everything throughout his time at the Bernabeu. Cristiano Ronaldo’s eighty million pound fee looks like peanuts too – the forward scored 451 goals in 438 games before outgoing because the club’s uncomparable high scorer.

Kylian Mbappe’s 166 million pound transfer to PSG is another that's more and more wanting sort of a steal, with the striker claiming for himself the mantle that fellow mate Neymar was expected to choose up.
These ar the illustrious names that the diminutive Belgian is meant to contend against.

No player guarantees success however Hazard remains one in all the few WHO comparable. In associate age wherever transfer fees shoot sky high on the rear of one sensible game, it's pretty much as good as sure that Eden Hazard can prolong to be one in all the most important bargains in footballing history.

It is maybe, as Madrid President Perez once same, “As way as transfers go, there's no such issue as low-cost or dearly-won. 100 million euros may be low-cost and €20 million may be dearly-won.”
